1. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has demanded N10billion from the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, as punitive, general exemplary and aggravated damages. Ortom through his lawyer, Samuel Irabor, demanded that Oshiomhole within 7 days must retract the libelous statements he made against him in 10 national dailies and on national television and radio. His lawyer noted that following his client’s defection from the ruling APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the APC Chairman has embarked on a campaign of hatred and propaganda against him.

2. Alhaji Ahmed Babba-Kaita, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Katsina North Senatorial District, Bye-election, has been declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Ahmed who scored 224,607 votes defeated his elder brother, Alhaji Kabir Babba-Kaita, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 59,724 votes. Prof. Hudu Ayuba-Abdullahi, the returning officer, who announced the result around 4:42am on Sunday, the total number of registered voters was 864,046 and the accredited voters were 308,500.

3. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged security agencies to fish out the killers of an APC Chieftain, Bunmi Ojo, who was on Friday murdered by gun men at a football viewing centre around Ajitadidun area in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State. Ojo had gone to the viewing centre with his friends to watch the English Premier League match between Manchester United and Leicester when about 6 gunmen invaded the centre and shot him in the head and stomach. “We will not rest until the assailants are fished out. This is a test of efficiency for the police and other security operatives,” Taiwo Olatunbosun, the APC state Publicity Secretary, said.
