Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom visited the most famous Wadata Market ,which gutted some sections by fire, raised many shops in the fish, yams, butchers, grain as well as industrial and allied material sections of the market , in the state capital, early hours of 2 January, 2019, in order to do an assessment of damages caused by the incidence.
Speaking on the phone with one of the victims in the Chicken wing, Abubakar,
QUEEN AMINA BLOG (www.ivyukula.com) gathered that Governor Ortom at the market who addressed the victims and other traders in the market promised to ensure that his administration gets to the root of the matter.
Adding that, Ortom promised to ensure everything, the secret behind the inferno is unraveled as soon as possible.
Stressing that Samuel Ortom who announced the donation of 30million to the victims when he inspected the burnt section of the market said the amount was an interim support to the traders.
He said , the governor added that the gesture was to enable them to start life, pending the outcome of the report of a committee he had constituted to inquire into the incident.
Abubakar also told QUEEN AMINA BLOG (www.ivyukula.com)The governor said the committee would be headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Tony Ijoh (SAN).
Speaking on the phone with some of the victimized traders in the Market through Abubakar , Aliyu authoritatively told QUEEN AMINA BLOG (www.ivyukula.com)saying
” Ortom pledged to us 30million to be redeemed with immediate effect for the interim support to the traders, but on reaching him, he said that we should vote him to get reelected first, before the money will be released ”
” But Senator George Akume, donated the sum of N2million to share amongs the Victims , urging us to bear the pains and move on,which the cash is still with the Market Chairman.”
” One Hon. Terhide Utaan, contesting to Represent Makurdi/Guma Constituency donated 60 Bags of Cement,and 20 bundles of Zinc ” He added.
