BENUE: We are going no where, Protesting Pensioners Tell Suswam

gathered from social media users that,
Senator Representing Benue North East ,Gabriel Suswam has addressed the protesting pensioners at Government House, Makurdi’s gate where they have been sleeping in the open for 6 days and counting.

The Senator cleared the air on Governor Ortom’s claims that his(Suswam) administration left billions of pension arrears behind, insisting he owed only 6 months.

The former governor said rather than continue to trade blames, Governor Samuel Ortom should liaise with him and other stakeholders to pay the pension arrears.

He pleaded with the senior citizens to just go home now that their grievance is strongly registered and the whole world has known their plight.

However, the angry pensioners unanimously rejected the plea to go home saying they would remain at that gate until either they are paid their money or the last amongst them dies.

The pensioners said they listened to Radio Benue this morning and heard how much Governor Ortom insulted them for genuinely demanding their entitlements saying they were playing a political script while he has done more than enough for them.

The senior citizens said the governor should get ready to pay them all their arrears and publicly name the political party or persons he has alleged are sponsoring their protest or they will remain his permanent guests.
