BENUE: Accept All Decampees And New Comers Into APC, Senator Akume Tells Party Faithfuls

QUEEN AMINA BLOG (www.ivyukula.com) gathered that the APC leader made this statement at the decamping ceremony which began with a thanksgiving service at NKST Central Church, Zaki- Biam where prayers were offered for Hon. Udende and his political associates in Ukum Local Government area of Benue State on sunday where the immediate past House of Representatives Member for Katsina Ala/ Ukum and Logo, Hon. Barr. Emmanuel Memga Udende led thousands of his supporters from other political parties in the Sankera axis to join the APC.

Senator Akume while addressing the mammoth crowd in Zaki- Biam, Ukum Local Government Area thanked the people of Sankera for putting Benue boldly on the map of Nigeria as the “Food Basket of the Nation” through massive yam production saying stakeholders of the area should unite to broker peace in order to overcome pockets of communal clashes that still occur in the area.

The former Benue State Governor who called on them to forgive one another, no matter the provocations recounted his 2018 peace meetings in Gbishe and Kundav areas of Katsina Ala and Ukum when the area was submerged in crisis, making reference to Rwanda that had witnessed serious war in the past but later reconciled and is today reckoned as one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

He described Hon. Udende as a huge political asset with strategic ideas whose return to APC would benefit his people in so many ways.

Senator Akume commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the ongoing dualization of the Keffi- Akwanga- Lafia- Makurdi road, award of contracts for the rehabilitation of Gboko- Ugbema- Katsina Ala road, the Makurdi- Naka- Adoka road, repair of Katsina Ala bridge, as well as the Social Investment Programme being enjoyed by people of the state adding that the President will do more and APC will grow stronger.

Earlier in his address, Chairman of the event, Senator Dr. Jacob Tilley Gyado OFR who likened Hon. Udende to the biblical prodigal son who has remembered to return to his father and political leader, Senator Akume and the APC as a party has received him with greater merriment.

Senator Gyado described Senator Akume as a strategic leader ordained by God for the liberation of Tiv nation and Benue State saying the good traits of the Leader far outweigh his bad attitude and God shall continue to raise him above his enemies.

In her speech, Benue North East Senatorial candidate of the APC in the 2019 Election and Chairlady of the occasion, Chief Hon. Mrs Mimi Adzape- Orubibi said Hon. Udende was only returning home and would be allowed full access to his house, urging Sankera people to be of good courage as those who stole their mandates have known no peace up till now.

Also speaking, Leader of the APC in Sankera, Col. Edwin Jando (Rtd) said the return of Udende will strengthen the party in the area while Hon. Prince Solomon Wombo promised to team up with other members of the party in Sankera to build viable party structures.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Udende expressed happiness that he was finally home in the political party that genuinely suits his ideology.

The immediate past House of Representatives Member who decamped with PDP, SDP and APGA supporters from the three local governments of Sankera promised to put in his best alongside his supporters for the good of the APC and assured other decampees that they would not regret the choice they have made.
