Imaan follows up on her renewed vision to reorganize and reposition NAPTIP

The Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, following up on her renewed vision to reorganize and reposition the Agency for excellence, commenced activities aimed at paying courtesy visits to Governors of States that are yet to Inaugurate the Anti-Trafficking Task Force.

The advocacy drive kicked off today with a visit to the Nasarawa state Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule. The Nasarawa State Governor who regarded the NAPTIP Director General as a good daughter, and expressed his utmost desire in ensuring that Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim who is an indegene of Nasarawa, gets all the support she require from the State Government to succeed in the fight against Trafficking in Persons and other related matters.
The Governor went further to inaugurate the Nasarawa State Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce, thereby enlisting and endorsing his commitment and support to the fight against Human trafficking.

Governor Abdullahi Sule also mentioned that Nasarawa state have enacted and passed both the VAPP Law, as well as the Child’s Right Act which has properly positioned the State to contributing it’s quota in the fight against Human Tracking and all forms of human degradation.

The NAPTIP DG shared the Agency’s Renewed Vision of Project 4S and 4R, which is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Vision of securing the Nation, Diversifying Economy and lifting 100 million people out of poverty. The Renewed Vision of NAPTIP is also inline with Governor Abdullahi Sule’s vision of Industrialisation of Nasarawa state.

More so, the Nasarawa State Governor went further to commit to providing 200 acres of land for the NAPTIP in order for the Agency to establish the NAPTIP Regional Training Academywhich will service the whole of the west African region and beyond, A training academy is a statutory provision of the TIPPEA Act 2015.
The Governor was excited about the prospect of siting the Regional Training Academy in Nasarawa State, and made bold to say that the State Government will make the required lan available for NAPTIP, and will proceed to fence the land for the Agency.

The Governor equally made commitment to providing a land that will be used to build A NAPTIP Complex, which will have an administrative block, opens and close shelter, a NAPTIP development Hub, a clinic, a restaurant, a rehabilitation centre, etc

The City Center Initiative is designed to absorb trainees from the Development Hub, and his shall be powered by NAPTIP in collaboration with the State Government and will be managed by consultants.

Furthermore, the Nasarawa State Governor expressed his desire to provide NAPTIP with every support to enable the Agency actualise it’s Vision.

The NAPTIP DG thanked the Governor of Nasarawa state for his declaration of support, and proceeded to invest the Governor with a complimentary plaque, whilst the Governor reciprocated the gesture.

While Congratulating the members of newly inaugurated task and wish them well in discharging their duties, the NAPTIP Director General emplored them to use this opportunity to work assiduously towards combating Human Trafficking, Violence Against Persons, and other forms of human degradation and harmful practices for National Security, and sake of posterity.
